Is This The Future Of Music?

Spotify. Born in Sweden by Daniel Ek. It's an application, like iTunes, that you download and install and then begin searching. You can find millions of songs by millions of artists. All for Free. I got the chance to use it first hand a few months back when I was hanging out with two Swedish Foreign Exchange Students. It's sweet. Just search an artist or song and BAM! there it is. The catch is, you don't actually own the song. You are not able to sync your ipod and take your songs on a run. But it's still cool. It finds Everything. Currently, Spotify is only available to IP addresses assigned to Sweden, Spain, Norway, Finland, The UK and France. Ek is trying to bring the service stateside but is receiving skepticism from the U.S. Music Industry. This could take some business away from iTunes. Spotify does sell tracks and offers a premium service in which you are able to keep the songs. iTunes has its own revolution though. It's hard to believe iTunes will be going away.
